Why is it important to have your wedding your way?

We tell our couples all the time that it's your wedding so do it your way, but why is this so important and don't all couples do this anyway?

You will be amazed as you go through your wedding planning how many people all of a sudden think that they know best, that their opinion is the only one you need to listen to, or tell you how they did things when they got married..........even if this was way back in the 60's!!!

Almost everyone will have an opinion on literally everything to do with your wedding from the venue your looking at right the way through to your hair and make up. Don't get me wrong, everyone is very well meaning, well most of the time anyway. However with so many people trying to voice their opinion, or worse tell you what to do, it is vital that as a couple you discuss exactly what you want your wedding to look like.

Whether you want a very low key, minimal guest wedding, or an extravagant large wedding, the choice is ultimately yours and don't let anyone take that power away from you. Your wedding is not the time to people please, that's not to say that you shouldn't consider some ideas as they maybe things you haven't thought about.

When planning your wedding, lean on your event coordinator at your venue, wedding planner and/or suppliers for any areas of your day that your unsure of. After all they are the professionals and plan and execute weddings pretty much every week. What they don't know about their area of expertise really isn't worth knowing.

So be clear on your vision, decide as a couple what are the most important things that you want at your wedding and get those suppliers booked...........after your venue of course. It is never too early to book your suppliers as trust me, we fill up quickly as many of us are only able to book one wedding per day or weekend, and the good ones go first!!!

Always but always keep in the back of your mind that it is your wedding, the whole day is about you both as a couple and the love that you share, therefore your entire wedding from start to finish should be all about you and it should reflect who you are as a couple.

There really is no right or wrong way to plan a wedding........well yes there is a right way and that is YOUR WAY, end of!!!

Happy wedding planning......enjoy it, it's supposed to be a fun and exciting time. Don't let others stress you out.
